My name is Akira Solomon, and I am a mother of two, a certified full-spectrum doula, and the soul behind The Starseed Doula. My work is rooted in education, empowerment, advocacy, and the sacred understanding that birth is not just a physical event—it is a psychological, emotional, and spiritual initiation.
My journey into birth work began with my grandmother, my first doula. During my own pregnancies, she guided me through what I now recognize as a psychological birth. I was encouraged to use visualization, affirmations, intention, and develop a deep trust in my body. Because of her wisdom and presence, I was able to experience both of my dream births. Those experiences changed my life and awakened my calling.
Through birth, I witnessed how powerful it is when a mother feels supported, informed, and mentally prepared by. I also saw how generational wisdom, especially from our elders, can dramatically reduce fear and trauma during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives.
I strongly believe that if we, as a people, can enter this world with less trauma, we will be able to leave this world with less trauma. Birth matters. How we are welcomed into this life matters. It shapes our nervous systems, our confidence, our relationships, and our ability to trust ourselves and the world around us.
As The Starseed Doula, I support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum using holistic, evidence-based, and spiritually grounded care. I honor natural birth while always prioritizing a healthy pregnancy and safe outcome. I do not deliver babies—I support birthing people in mind, body, and spirit so they can step into parenthood feeling empowered, heard, and whole.
This work is ancestral. This work is intentional. This work is love.
